Deoxycholate Agar is a selective medium commonly used in microbiology for the isolation and differentiation of Gram-negative bacteria, particularly those that are enteric pathogens. It contains deoxycholate salts that inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, making it ideal for the recovery of enteric pathogens from clinical samples.
