Product description :
SDS is an anionic surfactant commonly used in the electrophoretic separation of proteins and lipids. When it is mixed with protein and the mass ratio reaches 1.41, SDS can destroy the non-covalent bonds between protein molecules and other substance molecules, change the conformation of protein and denature the protein into a single subunit, thereby reducing or eliminating each Natural charge differences between protein molecules. 10% SDSis commonly used as a stock solution for electrophoresis.
SDS can rapidly destroy tissue structure and inhibit RNase and desoxyribonuclease (DNase) activity, so SDS is also a key component of nucleic acid purification reagents. Usually use 10% or 20% SDS stock solution, and the working concentration of SDS is 0.1-0.5%>
