Mannitol Yolk Polymyxin Agar Base (MYP) is a specialized agar base used for the selective isolation and enumeration of Staphylococcus aureus in food and dairy products. It contains mannitol, yolk, and polymyxin, providing a medium that promotes the growth of S. aureus while inhibiting the growth of other organisms.
