Rye Agar A

Compound: RNase A (ribonuclease A) from bovine pancreas; endoribonuclease that cleaves RNA at the 3' side of pyrimidine residues.

Form / quality: White freeze-dried powder, enzyme activity > 50 U/mg.

Storage: Store at −20 °C; stable for about 3 years.

Solubility / use: Typically dissolved at ~10 mg/mL in acetate buffer, heat-treated to inactivate contaminants, then adjusted to neutral pH and aliquoted for use (e.g. RNA removal from protein or DNA samples, RNA sequence analysis).

Applications: Used in biochemical research to study nucleic acid structure, analyze RNA sequences, hydrolyze RNA in mixed samples, and clean RNA from purified DNA.
