Desoxychlolate agar is a specialized culture medium used in microbiology to isolate and differentiate Gram-negative bacteria, particularly those from fecal samples. It contains bile salts that inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, allowing for the selective growth of Gram-negative organisms.
